TRWEA to Host Percussion Clinic
TRWEA is excited to have Nick Angelis judging that at the February 4 show at Norwin, and will be hosting an interactive clinic with Nick at 5:30pm in the Norwin Orchestra Room (In the Music Wing). Nick will be going over many topics, and will be using Three Rivers Indoor Percussion's battery section to help demonstrate some of the topics. In addition, we will have some giveaways, and have a time afterwards for any to chat. The clinic is sponsored by TRWEA, Pearl Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks, and Evans Drumheads. Please feel free to contact Evan Brown directly with any questions, and all students and staffs at the show, as well as parents are more than welcome to attend! Excel and Top Hats Join Forces To Form New Ensemble
Excel Winter Guard and Top Hats Performance Ensemble have announced a joint venture for the two units. The new unit, the Pittsburgh Performance Project (P3) will begin competition in the winter of 2012. Additional information is available from the unit's website (pghperformance project.com).

Directors to Update Contact, Unit Information
Beginning with the upcoming season, directors must confirm that their contact information and their units' information are accurate prior to enrolling in shows. In addition, unit information must include the name and contact email of a booster or fundraising contact for the unit. Updates and confirmations made on or after August 22, 2011 are valid for the 2012 season.

Indoor Percussion Design/Instruction
Dave Campbell is looking to design or teach an additional indoor percussion group this season. He is the director of Three Rivers Indoor Percussion and former Percussion Coordinator for TRWEA. Dave has taught and designed percussion and drill for over 25 local drumlines both indoor and out and was a WGI percussion adjudicator from 1995 until 2002. Color Guard Instructor
The Yough High School Marching Band is looking for a color guard instructor for this fall's marching band season AND winter colorguard season. The band has a temporary situation in place and is looking for a permanent placement. The band has also begun its search for an instructor for the 2012-13 school year as well. Not a HIGHLY competitive position... summer practices, two weeks of band camp, two rehearsals a week, football games, parades, two or three band festivals, winter indoor season / contests.

Rich Zabinski is looking for battery percussion writing/arranging opportunities for the upcoming year. Rich has 23 years experience in indoor and outdoor percussion arranging. Past/current organizations include Kiski Area HS, Centerville HS, Elizabeth Forward HS, East Allegheny HS, Mars Area HS, West Allegheny HS, and the Steel City Ambassadors Sr. Drum and Bugle Corps.
